Manymoon and Google Tasks in Sync

May 11, 2011

Today we’re excited to release an integration with Google Tasks, so users can keep all of their tasks updated between Google Tasks and Manymoon. Google Tasks provides a great way to quickly create tasks from Gmail or Google Mobile.

Integrating with Google Tasks was one of the most requested features from our users and we’re delighted to launch this capability along with Google.

Manymoon already lets users with Google Apps assign tasks and create new projects from Gmail and now we’re taking it one step further. Once you enable Google Task sync, tasks that you create in either Manymoon or Google Tasks will stay in sync, including important due dates and task descriptions. Combined with Google Mobile, your Manymoon tasks are now accessible on the go.

We have been working with Google to test and integrate with the new Tasks API and are thrilled with the result. Google Task sync is another great feature that helps simplify your worklife.

Let us know how you use Google Tasks and Manymoon together and if you have any feedback on this new feature.

Introducing the new Manymoon

April 21, 2011

The new Manymoon is rolling out now. We listened to feedback from our users and reworked the entire user experience to allow you to get work done faster. People who have already been using the new Manymoon love the speed and the new easy to navigate interface. The combination of Manymoon and Google Apps brings together the tools you need to manage your tasks and projects with co-workers, colleagues and customers.

Here are some highlights of what’s new:

  • Never get lost – improved navigation makes it always clear which project or task
    you’re working on.
  • More room for you – a re-designed look and feel provides more room for your tasks, comments, projects and documents. Tasks can now include long form text (for example, copy and paste an email) as a comment.
  • Speed – it’s super fast to load your task lists, activity streams, and create new tasks.
  • Maintain order – tasks within milestones can be sorted on the fly and retain their order.
  • Save time and see what’s new - see new updates that need your attention without having to refresh your browser.
  • Picture your projects – upload a fun picture to each project. It’s a great way to quickly scan a project list and know what to work on next.
  • Less downloading – preview images without having to download them.

We’re in the process of rolling out the new Manymoon so you’ll receive a notice when it’s ready for you to try! Want priority access? Let us know by completing this form.

In the coming weeks we’ll be publishing short posts on specific new features in the new Manymoon. If you have any feedback or questions please let us know.

It’s official. Manymoon will be participating in the Google I/O sandbox this year as a featured Google Apps developer. We have a lot of exciting developments in progress and will be releasing new ways to integrate with Google Apps that will allow our users to get work done even faster.

Manymooon is a social productivity app that simplifies your work life by letting you organize projects, tasks, documents, and conversations all in one place for your whole team.

Google I/O brings together thousands of developers for two days of deep technical content at Google’s largest developer event of the year. Developers who aren’t able to attend the event in person can join viewing parties around the world through I/O Extended, or can watch from home through I/O Live.

Happy Birthday Google Apps Marketplace

March 9, 2011

Today we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the launch of the Google Apps Marketplace. Here at Manymoon we see the amazing power that the Google Apps Marketplace has to bring cloud computing to everyone – from people  operating small businesses to large enterprises enabling thousands of users.

We launched Manymoon on the Google Apps Marketplace when there were just 50 apps on it, and we are now the top-installed app in the entire Marketplace. From this vantage point we have seen the phenomenal growth as more and more businesses realize the potential of Marketplace apps that are always available, that don’t need updates, and that integrate tightly with Google Docs, Calendar, Gmail and Sites. The Google Apps Marketplace now has over 300 apps enabling businesses to find the perfect solution to match their unique needs, and we are proud to be a part of it.

We get great feedback from Google Apps Marketplace customers and are excited to continue developing the features and products that will let millions of Google Apps users not just become more productive and efficient at work, but also enable them to work in new, disruptive and game-changing ways.

We’re excited to see what year 2 brings…

Perera Increases Client Satisfaction by Using Manymoon with Google Apps

March 8, 2011

We’re always excited to hear how our customers solve their business challenges with Manymoon.  If you have a great story to share, let us know and we’ll feature you next.

The Customer

Perera Logo
Perera is a digital marketing and strategy agency based in London and Oxford, UK, that offers a wide range of strategy, production and development services for projects, products and campaigns.

The Challenge

Perera was looking for a flexible, adaptable project management and tracking tool that could be easily used by a wide number of people. In most digital agencies, clients only see a small amount of the information that flows through their project, and therefore often fail to have a sufficient level of understanding of the progress being made. Perera wanted to bring transparency to the traditional agency model and offer clients the option of viewing their project details in real-time. The ideal solution would give the clients all of the information that they need and act as a full document repository, allowing clients to both stay up-to-date as well as pro-actively intervene with changes in project direction.

The Manymoon Solution

Perera already had Google Apps enabled and wanted a tool that extended the Google Apps solution. The factors at play were:
  • The ease with which the tool could capture both small and large changes
  • Compatibility with Perera’s processes, including Agile development and Shyama, its in-house planning system
  • Easy sharing of the tool with clients
  • The ability for the tool to include not just the progress of a project, but also all of the associated documents and resources

Manymoon turned out to be the perfect match for all these requirements, due to its one-click access control which allows Perera to securely invite clients to the system. Once invited, the clients can access particular projects and tasks that contain not only progress indicators but also hold documents and comment histories.

Manymoon has made us more responsive, more open, and has played a critical role in the development of our agency.

-Paul Squires, Founder, Perera

The Manymoon Result

This level of transparency that Perera achieves with Manymoon is changing the way project teams work – making them truly accountable to the client, without account managers intermediating. Perera is “all about the customer” and Manymoon has helped them embed that philosophy deeper into the organization. The increase in customer satisfaction has been so immense that Perera now publicly markets their approach to working openly with clients. One recent client said that “it was an extremely interactive way of working, which they were truly grateful for.”

Perera’s clients really appreciate the openness and interactivity, while employees see it as a useful way to have a much more constructive and direct dialogue with clients.

Paul Squires, Perera’s founder, reports that at least 10% of his email traffic has been absorbed by Manymoon and he sees this number increasing as Perera involves more clients – and more projects – into this way of working.

When to Start Using a Project/Task Management System Like Manymoon

February 23, 2011

Many people often wonder when it’s time to start using a project and task management system like Manymoon to keep track of their lives or work. Our experience in the space has coalesced into a fairly simple answer: When the amount of information becomes complex enough that you can no longer keep track of it in your head.

Your brain is the fastest information retrieval system you have. If you remember and organize all your tasks in your head, then using a management system will probably only slow you down, as you have to enter and then look up the information.

However, when you get to the point where you can no longer remember everything you need to do, or keep it organized in terms of steps or timeline, then the advantages of using a management system begin to far outweigh the costs. This also applies when you need to collaborate with others, who, much to your dismay, can’t read your mind.

This threshold is different for each one of us, but you’ll know when you get there. If you find yourself forgetting important tasks, feeling generally overwhelmed and unorganized, or having trouble communicating with coworkers (hello email deluge and document version chaos), then it’s time to get a system in place. We, of course, recommend Manymoon. If you haven’t signed up yet – try it out with a free account.

Manymoon, Collaborative Project Consulting Win Google Contest

February 17, 2011

A little while back, we posted a blog entry telling the story of how Collaborative Project Consulting is using Manymoon and Google Apps to help lead the green revolution.

We’re very proud of this particular case study, because Manymoon is not only helping CPC work more efficiently, our social project collaboration capabilities are also helping them work in ways that weren’t possible before.

Apparently, Google agrees with us, because we just took honorable mention in a contest they ran to find the best Google Apps marketplace vendor case studies.

Below is an excerpt from their blog post on the contest:

—————

Other great stories were submitted by Mavenlink, Aprigo, Outright, and Manymoon.

  • Mavenlink used a unique question and answer format to tell the story of Mending Limbs and how they use multiple cloud apps
  • Aprigo shot a video and wrote a strong story to highlight the story of Google Apps user Bay Cove
  • Outright pushed out multiple stories to tell the story of why everyone loves Google Apps and their accounting app.
  • Manymoon used visuals and a straightforward story telling method to tell the story of Collaborative Project Consulting

Thanks Google, and thanks Collaborative Project Consulting.
