Manymoon and Google Tasks in Sync

May 11, 2011

Today we’re excited to release an integration with Google Tasks, so users can keep all of their tasks updated between Google Tasks and Manymoon. Google Tasks provides a great way to quickly create tasks from Gmail or Google Mobile.

Integrating with Google Tasks was one of the most requested features from our users and we’re delighted to launch this capability along with Google.

Manymoon already lets users with Google Apps assign tasks and create new projects from Gmail and now we’re taking it one step further. Once you enable Google Task sync, tasks that you create in either Manymoon or Google Tasks will stay in sync, including important due dates and task descriptions. Combined with Google Mobile, your Manymoon tasks are now accessible on the go.

We have been working with Google to test and integrate with the new Tasks API and are thrilled with the result. Google Task sync is another great feature that helps simplify your worklife.

Let us know how you use Google Tasks and Manymoon together and if you have any feedback on this new feature.

Introducing the new Manymoon

April 21, 2011

The new Manymoon is rolling out now. We listened to feedback from our users and reworked the entire user experience to allow you to get work done faster. People who have already been using the new Manymoon love the speed and the new easy to navigate interface. The combination of Manymoon and Google Apps brings together the tools you need to manage your tasks and projects with co-workers, colleagues and customers.

Here are some highlights of what’s new:

  • Never get lost – improved navigation makes it always clear which project or task
    you’re working on.
  • More room for you – a re-designed look and feel provides more room for your tasks, comments, projects and documents. Tasks can now include long form text (for example, copy and paste an email) as a comment.
  • Speed – it’s super fast to load your task lists, activity streams, and create new tasks.
  • Maintain order – tasks within milestones can be sorted on the fly and retain their order.
  • Save time and see what’s new - see new updates that need your attention without having to refresh your browser.
  • Picture your projects – upload a fun picture to each project. It’s a great way to quickly scan a project list and know what to work on next.
  • Less downloading – preview images without having to download them.

We’re in the process of rolling out the new Manymoon so you’ll receive a notice when it’s ready for you to try! Want priority access? Let us know by completing this form.

In the coming weeks we’ll be publishing short posts on specific new features in the new Manymoon. If you have any feedback or questions please let us know.

Manymoon Featured in LinkedIn’s Blog

December 14, 2010

“The new Projects & Teamspaces app is the most productive application I have so far installed on LinkedIn.”
– Fiifi Baidoo, IT Manager at Mobile Content, Inc.

We’re excited to announce the first project and task collaboration application for LinkedIn. Ever connect to a customer, partner or former colleague on LinkedIn and want to get some work done with them? You can now do that for free using Manymoon without ever leaving LinkedIn.  If you use LinkedIn, you know that the power of your network grows as you add more connections–but only if you can keep things organized.

Here are some examples of how you might use Manymoon in LinkedIn:

  • Assign a task to a co-worker asking to review a document
  • Assign a task to yourself to write that recommendation you owe a former co-worker
  • As a job seeker, you can create a private task for each job you’re applying for
  • As a recruiter, you can create a private task for each candidate you’re interviewing and attach all necessary documents

You can read more in our guest post on the LinkedIn Blog!

Here’s a short video on how Manymoon can help you get work done with your LinkedIn network:

Introducing the Manymoon Support Universe

October 29, 2010

Here at Manymoon, providing excellent customer support is a top priority. We’re striving to reduce the time it takes you to find answers and removing the main bottleneck – ourselves – should help! You can always submit a ticket for one-on-one support, but our new support tools and community will provide an immediate resolution to most of your questions.

We’re excited to announce the Manymoon Support Universe!  It’s been grouped into three areas:

KnowledgeBase

The KnowledgeBase is an instruction manual categorized by Manymoon feature, with most of the entries written as questions, to give it a FAQ feel. This forum is completely created and curated by Manymoon staff. It’s a great reference manual or a way to investigate a specific topic in detail. Want to learn everything there is know about Tags?  Just go to the appropriate section in the KnowledgeBase and find out!

We  include screenshots, links and videos in our articles to create clear and compelling KnowledgeBase entries.

We’ll be adding items to our KnowledgeBase organically based on feedback from you. In other words, when a question repeatedly appears for a certain feature, we’ll add an entry to the KnowledgeBase. We’re still growing our KnowledgeBase–we plan to add lots more articles within next couple of months.

User Forums

User Forums are where users and Manymoon staff can create interactive threads of conversation. The first two forums, “Help, I need somebody, help!” and “General Questions” are set up to allow users to post questions. Others users can comment on the questions, and Manymoon staff can mark particularly good answers with a big checkmark. Entries in these forums are created as “Questions”, which have a question mark icon next to them, and indicate they are meant to be interactive threads.

The third forum is called “Tips and Tricks“, and allows Manymoon users to post articles on how they use Manymoon to get super-productive. In fact, we are currently running a contest to see who can post the best article in Tips and Tricks, with Amazon gift certificates for the top three tips! Click here for more information on the contest.

Feature Requests and General Feedback

This is one of the coolest parts of the Support Universe!  The “Feature Request” forum allows users to post their requests for new features to be added to Manymoon. Other users can scan the existing feature requests and vote for the ones they want. Entries in Feature Request are created as “Ideas”, and have a little lightbulb icon next to them.

Finally, the “General Feedback” forum is for all other feedback that is not a feature request.

We hope this introduction to our new support universe has been interesting. In later blog posts I’ll talk about how to get some momentum going for the forums, so users are actively using and adding to them.

What do you think of the new Manymoon Support Universe?

It’s All About Making Documents Easier to Use

September 22, 2010

We’re back to developing new features to make your life easier.  This week we focused on improving how documents are handled in Manymoon:

Drag & Drop Multiple Documents!

You can now drag & drop one or more files into the publisher module (Share Something, Assign Task).  Say you want to assign a task for someone to review the new office layout.  You can just drag & drop the two possible floor plans into the ‘Assign Task’ tab and click ‘Create’ to automatically upload and share those files!  This feature requires web browsers that support the necessary HTML5 tags (Firefox 3.6+ and Google Chrome 6+ so far).

Document Preview

You’ll now see a ‘[preview]‘ link next to many names in your Documents list.  Just click the link to see a pop-up that displays the file! This is a great way to get work done without having to download and open files on your computer.

Link Preview

Ok, this is not quite the same as documents, but close.  When you enter a link to share in the publisher module, Manymoon will automatically find and display the title of the web page for you. You can still edit it though, but this should save you a couple of clicks when sharing those interesting things online!

Have other ideas of how to make document sharing more useful in Manymoon?  Let us know!

New Administrative Features and Pricing

July 29, 2010

As we’ve grown our customers have provided feedback on administrative features that they need to better use Manymoon at work.

We’re excited to announce that many of these new features are being released today:

  • Manage Content – administrators can now manage content in their team.  This is great for scenarios where you would like to clean up old projects, review timesheets and add new team members to projects.
  • Customize Emails – you can now include your own branding in Manymoon email notifications. For example, include your company tagline or just a simple “Regards,” at the end of each email.
  • Export Data – customers have asked for the ability to use Manymoon data in various applications like accounting and reporting packages.  Others have asked for the ability to backup their Manymoon data how they like.  You can now download your team’s data into an XML file for use in 3rd party applications or backup.

In conjunction with these new administrative features, we have updated our pricing and packaging. The pricing is for unlimited users, unlimited projects and unlimited project creators!

NOTE: the pricing for existing Manymoon Pro and Manymoon Team customers will remain unchanged.

  • Manymoon Standard - our free version of Manymoon includes unlimited projects, tasks, Google Docs and more!
  • Manymoon Silver – includes unlimited email-to-task creation, print-to-pdf of task lists and project features for your team and everyone you work with!
  • Manymoon Gold – includes all the features of Manymoon Silver in addition to the ability to manage content, manage permissions and customization.
  • Manymoon Platinum – includes all the features of Manymoon Gold in addition to the ability to export data.  This edition also includes 100 GB of online storage which can be used by everyone in your team!

We hope you find these capabilities useful and the price points attractive for the large number of features included in each.  You can read more in the Manymoon FAQ.  Let us know what you think!

Make Your Email More Actionable with Our New Gmail Gadget!

May 18, 2010

Now you can perform Manymoon functions like assigning tasks and creating projects within Gmail! Using Google’s innovative Contextual Gadget framework, Manymoon can automatically use important content and contacts from within the email in your tasks and projects. As always, you have full control over what is shared and with whom. This is a great way to follow-up on emails and never lose track of important work items.

The Gmail Gadget is available for Google Apps users, making your emails more actionable! Watch this quick demo to see how it works.

For example, you might receive an email that requires you to do something at the end of the week. The Manymoon Gmail gadget automatically populates the task for you with the email’s Subject:, To: From: and Cc: people, Google Docs and links. Just give the task a due date of Friday and click ‘Create’. The email, and its associated Google Docs, are now a task for you. Manymoon will send you a reminder the day before the due date.

Our existing Manymoon gadget has been updated to include even more project capabilities that allow you to create, view, comment on and complete tasks and projects within any Google Sites or iGoogle page.

We’re thrilled to be able to make it even easier to use Manymoon within the Google Apps you already love. We hope this helps you simplify your work life and makes email more productive for you and your team!

We’re presenting at the Google I/O event tomorrow and will be sharing more information on the Gmail Contextual Gadget. Also, stop by our stand at the Developers Sandbox–we’d love to meet you and answer any questions.

UPDATE 1: Customers who want to use the Manymoon Gmail Gadget *and* installed Manymoon before May 18, 2010 should follow this procedure.

New Features: Templates and Custom Task Status

April 28, 2010

As more people have been using Manymoon we’ve noticed a large number asking for greater customization in how projects and tasks are used in their organization.  We’re happy to announce the release of Project Templates and Custom Tasks Status!

Every job function, person or organization has processes and workflows they may repeatedly use. Manymoon allows you to set up a template for each process that can be applied to future projects. You can make templates private, public or selectively share them. For example, you can create a “Hiring and Recruiting” template that includes the job description, hiring managers and interview process.  You can then use this template each time you have a new job your organization is looking to fill.

We’ve also created a Template Gallery that allows you to view all public and private templates you have access to.  Public templates are a great way to learn from others who have worked on similar projects.  Want to figure out how to put together a great party?  Try the Event Planning template! Want to build a web site?  Try the Temple Web Workflow template!

Currently, each task in Manymoon has a ‘Status’ that could be “Open”, “Completed”, “Deferred” or “Deleted.”  With the new Custom Task Status feature, you can create a new status called ‘Stage’ that can be set to “Received Application”, “Interviewed” and “Hired.”  It’s a great way to tailor how Manymoon supports your own processes and workflows.

As always, we look forward to your feedback!
